Helikos is a company formed for the purpose of acquiring one or more operating businesses with principal business operations in Germany. It is our intention to partner with the existing shareholders and management team of a company with solid fundamentals that we believe is or has the potential to become a “hidden champion”, to help develop and execute their growth strategy.

By effecting a merger, capital stock exchange, asset acquisition, stock purchase, reorganization or similar business combination with its target, Helikos will allow its target to raise capital and become a publicly traded company, thereby offering an attractive solution for:
- Stand-alone businesses in search for growth financing
- Family-owned businesses facing a generation change
- Businesses seeking to restructure their capital base
- Spin-offs from large corporations

We will focus on consummating a business combination with a company with principal business operations in Germany that we believe is or has the potential to become a “hidden champion”.

Based on Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Simon’s more than 30 years of research into “hidden champion” – companies that rank among the top 3 in the global market or are no. 1 on their continent, generate less than €3 billion in annual revenues and are not well known to the general public – we believe that Germany is home to over 1,200 privately owned small and medium sized companies that are actual or potential hidden champions. By applying Wendel’s rigorous investment criteria to this group of companies and leveraging the relationships and experience of our Founding Shareholders, we are confident that we can identify and structure an attractive business combination, and support the target company in its long-term value creation through an active partnership.
